The CTF is designed to test the knowledge and skills of cybersecurity professionals and enthusiasts to help promote cybersecurity capacity development and a safer internet

The competition will consist of two rounds, Online qualifier round and On-site/final round.

The First stage of the competition will be an Online qualifier round, designed to be individual inclined, which will be held on a secure platform accessible to participants that registered for the competition. Participants will be given a specific amount of time to complete the challenges and their progress will be tracked and scored by the platform. The 15 top-scoring participants from this round will be selected to advance to the final round to be played in Lagos.

The Second and final stage of the competition will be an On-site round which will take place in Lagos. Participants who have qualified for this round will be grouped into 5 teams consisting of 3 players each (at least a female, a student and a professional), they will be provided access to the competition environment with access to network infrastructure and other resources. At the end of the final round, the top 3 teams with the highest score will be declared winners of the competition and be awarded prizes, as well as recognition for their skills and knowledge in the field of cybersecurity.

  • Registration for the competition will be open from April 22nd – April 24th 2023. In order to participate in the competition the following criteria must be met.

    • Interested participants must be a registered member of the DoH community
    • Must reside in Nigeria
    • Must be at least 15 years old
    • Qualified participants from the online qualifier must be physically present at the conference in Lagos
    • Only registered participants will be invited to play on the CTF platform

    The Online qualifier will take place from April 28th (00:00) – April 30th (23:59) and the finals in Lagos on May 6th, 2023. 

By participating in the CTF competition, the following rules and regulations set forth by the organizers must be adhered to. Any violation of these rules and regulations may result in immediate disqualification from the competition, at the discretion of the organizers. The decision of the organizers is final and binding.

  1. Participants must not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the CTF platform or any other part of the competition infrastructure, including but not limited to brute forcing and direct attacks on the servers, network, or databases and any other means of unauthorized access.
  2. Participants must not attempt to exploit any vulnerabilities on the CTF platform. This includes but is not limited to SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), and buffer overflow attacks.
  3. Participants must not engage in any behavior that may disrupt the CTF platform or any other part of the competition infrastructure. Like attempting to launch a Denial of Service (DoS) attack against the CTF platform.
  4. Participants must report any suspected security issues or anomalies to the competition organizers immediately.
  5. Participants are not allowed to share flags or answers with other teams or individuals during the competition. Each team or individual must work independently to solve the challenges.
  6. Participants must always conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner. Disruptive behavior, including but not limited to harassment, verbal abuse, or cheating, will not be tolerated.
  7. Participants must not attempt to modify the CTF platform or any of the challenges in any way. Any modification of the CTF platform or challenges is strictly prohibited.
  8. Participants who qualify for the final round of the CTF competition will be responsible for their own logistics.
  9. The competition organizers reserve the right to make changes to the CTF platform or any other part of the competition infrastructure at any time.
  10. The competition organizers reserve the right to disqualify any team or individual for any reason, including but not limited to violations of the rules and regulations regarding the CTF platform.
